| This astonshingly peaceful place lies in the heart of the second largest city in Arequipa. It occupies a whole block near the centre of the city, surrounded by all the bustle and hubub you would expect in such a place. Yet inside it is a haven of calm. | Part of the complex is still used as a convent but the rest is open to visitors and is certainly my favourite place in this busy city. Different areas are decorated in different colours. |
