Although I have more colour images than monchrome I really prefer monchrome work for being creative. Most of my colour images are really documentary in nature they record my travels and my activities. Whereas my monochrome work typically tries to be a little more creative and I have no qualms whatsoever about manipulating them to my own ends. There are less images in this category simply because I take more time to produce less. I might spend a couple of days in the darkroom working on just one image. I am starting to do a little more work with digital manipulation of scans from negatives but as I like to use medium format for much of my monochrome work this presents a bit of a problem.

120 format scanners are simply too expensive for me to consider and a flat bed scan of a 120 negative ends up poorer resolution than my 35mm scans, which rather defeats the object! I hold an LRPS distinction with the Royal Photographic Society of which I am moderately proud though this is the lowest of the distinctions and not really that hard to get! My LRPS was earned with monochrome images that I took and printed myself and some of these are in this collection.
