I try to keep this page up to date with any significant known
bugs in the current version and if possible with appropriate workarounds. Unless
otherwise stated you can assume that any known bugs in earlier versions have
been fixed in the newer ones.
Please first check your program
version (click Help and then About) then check possible
workarounds.
If you encounter problems you can get support at
the Support Forums or by contacting support here....

If you create a new database
then it does not automatically set up a local thumbnail folder. The result
is that if you create local thumbnails (rather than thumbnails with the main
image) they will all be created in (probably) your desktop, which is none
too clever!
Workaround. So if you create a new
database and use local thumbnails then you should immediately go to View -
Options and specify a local thumbnail folder. This will be fixed in the next
version.

There is a problem with merging a database that contains
local thumbnails which will cause a crash.
Workaround. You need to change all the thumbnails in the database
being merged to NOT be local ie to be stored with the main image however
doing this requires that it can make a copy of the thumbnails to the same
location as the main image which will not work if it is on CD. What you need
to do is
1. Open the database to be merged in.
2. If the images are on CD use the Edit - Folder Organisation and select the
root folder and copy it to a new temporary location using the Copy Folder
button
3. Select Image - Auto Create Thumbnails
4. Select Thumbnails with main image
5. Click OK - this should copy all the thumbnails to be with the main image
6. Open the database to be merged into and do the merge (fingers crossed but
this should now work)
7. Select Image - Auto Create Thumbnails again
8. Select Local thumbnails
9. Click OK - this should now copy all the merged image thumbnails to the
local location.
10. If the images were on CD then use the Edit - Folder Organisation to
select and unmount them and then re-mount them using the CD location.
11. Hopefully all should now be well :-)

If you click in the thumbnail area but not on any thumbnails
then all images are correctly unselected however some menu options such as
Image Properties remain enabled and selecting them will crash the program.

I have still not found the correct way to decode the Canon
camera serial number.

The description of some transformations in the help as
lossless is a little misleading. Whilst flipping and rotating are lossless
transformations if, as is often the case, they are being performed on JPEG
images this file format is inherently lossy and the saved transformed image
will be different do to the JPEG decoding/encoding processes. To minimise
this effect when working on JPEG images you could set the default JPEG save
quality very high though this will generate larger images. I plan to add an
option to save transformed images to new files in the next release.

If you are viewing a Named Collection that contains
unmounted images, moving images to new locations in the Collection will not
work properly.
Workaround: Select Categories - Include Unmounted. The unmounted
images will be displayed (listed as "unmounted") and the
reordering should now work correctly.
